Ho Dzung, M.D.

Dr. Dzung is new to the Las Vegas Pain Institute and comes from the east coast. His parents emigrated from Vietnam and sacrificed a lot to raise him. He grew up in Miami, FL and Washington, D.C. After attending college at Georgetown University, he attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. He initially began his training in surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He soon learned that he would be better suited in the field of anesthesiology. Though he did not stay in surgery, he did meet his wife to be, Lynda Le. He completed his residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. His work with Dr. James Cottrell, Dr. Rebecca Twersky, and Dr. David Wlody encouraged him to pursue further specialization in chronic pain management after doing research in regional anesthesia. He traveled to Buffalo, New York, where he finished his fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Oscar DeLeon, Dr. Elizabeth Ditonto, and Dr. Mark Lema. In addition to authoring a few publications, he gained extensive training in the management of cancer pain. While he is versed in interventional procedures for benign and cancer pain, he feels that a multidisciplinary approach to pain management would provide patients the best care possible.

Before his fellowship training, he worked as an assistant clinical professor at SUNY Downstate in the Department of Anesthesiology where he worked with residents and medical students. He was also a staff attending at Lutheran Medical Center, one of three level one trauma hospitals in Brooklyn, NY. While working, he became proficient in regional anesthesia under the tutelage of Dr. Alan Coopersmith and the late Dr. Honorio Santos. He is board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is currently in the process of certification in pain management.

In his spare time, he enjoys working on his automobiles, mountain biking, traveling with his fiancé, and walking his dog. He looks forward to working alongside the well trained physicians and excellent support staff at the Las Vegas Pain Institute to better care for patients.
